At E3 2008 it was announced that the dashboard would be updating. Microsoft called the new dashboard NXE, or the 'New Xbox Expierence'. In November 2008, microsoft updated the dashboard to include these new features. The NXE also introduced Xbox 360 users to new features. The abalilty to install games to the HDD was introduced and, while they still needed the disc to start the game, the game would run directly from the HDD. This resulted in reduced load times and less disc drive noise. Microsoft also introduced Avartars, these avatars were used to represent the gamer, and are also used in some games (EG. Uno). In future microsoft plans to launch games designed specificly for the avartars. These include 1 vs 100 and Joy Ride
