Profile

With Hudson, Namco was one of the first Famicom licensees. Then, as now, Namco (along with Sega) is one of the two leading arcade manufacturers in the world, and is also a prominent home game developer. In the 1980s, Masaya Nakamura and Nintendo's Hiroshi Yamauchi have had serious disagreements over Nintendo's cartridge production policies, causing a breech between the two companies that has taken years to heal. After developing many of its franchise games for Sony Playstation and Sega Dreamcast, Namco developes for PS2, GameCube, Xbox, GBA, and now also for Xbox 360
